Writing social media content can be a challenge without guidelines and strategy to make your work easier.
A good place to start is to populate a couple of idea-prompting questions about your customers:
- Why do they buy from you?
- Where are they from?
- What other options do they have, besides your business?
- What is their income?
- What is their relational status?
- What is their education level?
- What are they interested in?
- What pages do they follow?
- What are the products your clients enjoy the most?
- Are you writing for your existing clients or for your future ones?
Some additional tips to keep the captions coming:
Remember the attention span is getting lower and lower (less than 8 seconds), and social platforms give users the opportunity to infinite scroll.
- Start with a hook in order to grab attention.
You can have a question, or a curious fact about your business, so that you can keep your audience engaged to read your content further.
Because narratives are powerful, share personal stories, anecdotes and create an emotional connection.
Have messages that contain elements like empathy, relatability and emotional engagement.
- Include user generated content.
Ask your clients to give reviews, or unboxing of your products and use this content on your social media platforms. In this way you are authentic and realistic.
