Zombie SKUs are products in Google Merchant Center with 0 (zero) clicks in the last 30 days.
These SKUs appear to be DOA, but we’ve got a method that will bring these products to life.
Here are the steps to generate and optimize the Zombie SKUs:
-
Login to your Google Merchant Center account
-
Go to the Products menu and from there select All products.
-
Click the funnel icon to filter the products with 0 (zero) clicks.
-
Once the product with 0 (zero) clicks has been filtered, click the download button to export the Zombie SKUs.
-
Use the spreadsheet file you downloaded from Google Merchant Center, delete the other columns, only the ID column is going to be needed.
-
There are two ways to segment and add the Zombie SKUs to Google Merchant Center.
First, is using a Feed management tool. Simply add the spreadsheet file to a [custom_label] by mapping it and match the IDs from the Feed management tool you are using.
Second, is via supplemental feed in the Google Merchant Centre, make sure the columns are correct so that the SKUs can be matched via their ID.
7. Apply the Zombie SKUs’ segmentation in your Shopping campaigns to give them a chance to perform. With these procedures, the underperforming products (Zombie SKUs) will be given a chance to get Google’s attention to make it perform well.
